I am a Liberal Democrat Parliamentary Candidate

 

In recent years I have been actively canvassing around the south west, listening to people and promoting the party in North Dorset, Glastonbury and Somerton and Salisbury constituencies. 

 

With a background in international development and now increasingly engaged in local community issues in the UK, I have always tried to make a positive impact through my work. Some of my core values are:

As your candidate, I would work hard to ensure the things you care about are raised at the city, county and national levels.

Ultimately, I want to work with you to make your constituency a better place to live.

Politically, I am closely aligned with some of the core Liberal Democrat areas of policy; namely:

 

  • more local democracy

  • the right housing in the right areas

  • improving transport systems

  • strengthening our health and care systems

  • political reform

  • a more ambitious response to climate change

  • closer ties with the European Union

  • more commitment to international security and development

About me

Harry Johnstone is a parliamentary political candidate with the Liberal Democrats.

 

I have been canvassing across the south west, listening to people's concerns and promoting the party, support LibDem councillors and MPs in several constituencies.  

 

My background is in international development, working with Ministries to tackle issues such as drought, climate change and food security.

 

More recently, I have worked on migration issues focusing on the Mediterranean route. I am the Director of a community organisation called Loop which focuses on circular economy. 

 

Harry has professional experience in strategy, project management, coordination, fundraising and advocacy.
